A Day With My Sister And Holy Spirit

A Day With My Sister And Holy Spirit

I remember visiting a sister in Christ whom Jesus had so graciously placed in my life. I went to see her at her university, and as always, we spent time talking about Jesus, about life, and about the things we were both walking through.

Our conversation eventually shifted to her academics. She shared with me that she hadn’t done well on one of her test, and she was thinking about lying about it to her father, not wanting to disappoint him. As she spoke, she grew quiet . Then suddenly, she groaned, began to cry, and said, “I’ve grieved the Holy Spirit.”

I was stunned. Right there, I thought to myself but she hasn't said the lie yet she was thinking about it .

Watching that moment shook me. I had never seen someone respond so quickly and sincerely to the gentle conviction of the Holy Spirit. or experience the grief he feels when being grieved  It marked me deeply. learning what grieves the Holy Spirit and that it hurts to see him being grieved.
